Today an anonymous reader sent me a handful of photos showing sets being torn down and props thrown away, proving that Prometheus has now finished filming at Pinewood Studios.
My source says a lot of the props were marked 'Morocco', so a wild guess would be that that's where they are now as filming in Iceland has finished.
One photo that stands out in particular is the one below showing an airlock door from the side. The prop is marked 'Magellan mess deck', which indicates that there may be more than one human space ship present in Prometheus. We've heard earlier that one of the ships is named Prometheus.
UPDATE: All images have been removed by request from 20th Century Fox.
Very cool, ive been inside the big 007 Soundstage ages ago, so i can imagine just how huge the Prometheus sets are going to be!
ReplyDeleteNice, that thing looks like an asshole though
ReplyDeleteThe door really looks like the one on the Nostromo... Perhaps it really is the same company?
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories of watching "Giger's Alien" where they show the original Alien sets being ripped apart and destroyed. I remember Hans himself making a comment of how hard it was to watch.
ReplyDeleteIts always hard for me to see such works of production art set out to pasture like this but it happens with every movie. Such is the way of the beast. I know if I could, I'd be pulling up a Rent-a-Truck to haul ALL that stuff away
Just for clarification: "Giger's Alien" was a documentary shot by Giger during production back in '79.
ReplyDeleteLeading the field, indeed! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThe fourth pic from the bottom looks like a dead jockey lying against the weird telescope thing. Also part of it looks like parts from the derelict across from it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fucking epic! Can't wait until we get an official trailer.
ReplyDeleteHmm, wonder what was blacked out on the window of the 2nd pic...Weyland/Yutani logo?
ReplyDeleteAmazing! But damnit, why do the "juicier" photos have to be so grainy?
ReplyDeleteBtw, is there a way to get "Giger's Alien" anywhere? There doesn't seem to be any info anywhere. Is it a rare relic now?
The Prometheus movie posters look AMAZING! I MEAN FUCKING AMAZING! I don't care if its real or fake. If I were Ridley, I'd totally be on those posters.
ReplyDeleteI have the Gigers Alien documentary on DVD-R ripped from the rare laser disc. Great Documentary and i agree these pictures remind me of it. Hope we get something simular with Prometheus.
ReplyDelete^

I could care less if they are real or fake I really wanna see these movie posters. Where can I find these Prometheus movie posters you speak of?
ReplyDeleteThe 'map' reminds me of The middle heavens featured in ALIEN, see this link: http://alienexplorations.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Any word on if the effects will be done with models or CGI??
ReplyDeleteI really hope they use models for a lot of it-
Ridley has stated hes not using CGI
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my crappy fan-made trailer...

Where's the real footage already??
I think these confirm two things for sure; one is the this indeed does take place in the same world as "Alien" and my be fairly closely tided in to it, and two that the "Space Jockey" alien race will be in it as a lot of those photos look exactly like the derelict ship found on LV-426 by the crew of the Nostromo.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! Can't wait!! I was 9 years old when I first saw alien!! Scared the crap out of me!! Best science-fiction horror movie ever!!
