Today I can reveal a couple of the things that were hidden behind those walls thanks to an anonymous source.
This source has also informed me that the image of what was thought to be rocket engines I posted earlier this month are actually not rocket engines but huge air vents from inside a space ship.
The first of today's images shows the vehicle we've previously seen glimpses of in the grainy SDCC 2011 images, and the second image looks a bit like one of the 'feet' seen on the right hand side in the official image.
My source tells me this is in fact a huge lifter.
UPDATE: Images removed due to request from 20th Century Fox, but they can still be found if you do a quick search on Google.
So far so good and many thanks for sharing those pics! Vehicle and prop design seems to be going into the right direction. But one little remark though, aren't those bronze wheels a bit 'Flash Gordon'? Not so sure about that...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a WEYLAND logo on the vehicle: http://alienseries.blogspot.com/2011/08/weyland-yutani-logo-in-prometheus.html
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it looks like the logo or maybe is just "Yutani"?

ReplyDeletenice!
ReplyDeleteUž se nemohu dočkat premiéry. Ještě pár takových ochutnávek...
ReplyDeleteTeaser trailer already please...thanks for this site.
ReplyDeleteThe main vehicle looks like the Pat wagon from Stallone's Judge Dredd. Very similar.
ReplyDeleteI like the vehicle; there are elements of both the APC and exploration buggy thing from 'Aliens'.
ReplyDeleteI think with this movie being set earlier than Alien, things are supposed to look a bit more new and 'hi tech'. Hence the way the vehicle and spacesuits look. Think Apple iPad as opposed to a PC out of a skip (dumpster).
ReplyDeleteRidley scott to film 3 days only in Spain:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2011/08/25/alicante/1314263898.html
But they have reserved the pool for 3 months.
Don't worry about the colour of the vehicles. Filming (especially 3D) messes with the colour gamut and 'flattens' everything, so colours in the real world need to be more vibrant. Those wheels will be a dull copper-rust colour in the final film...
ReplyDeleteThe shape of that vehicle slightly resembles camerons APC.
ReplyDeleteAnd a "lifter" featuring lots of hydraulics, and the 3D...
Ridley is riding that schmuck camerons jock way too hard IMO.
And the reason he hasn't made a decent movie in decades was because he's been riding his no talent brothers.
I hope this movie is good, but IMO Ridley has been burnt out since 1982.
He's just desperately following trends now instead of making them.
It's not a lifter, most likely the landing gear of a shuttle.
ReplyDeleteRidley burnt out! Hes the best director this planet has ever seen!
ReplyDeleteEach to their own i suppose!
In case if any of you are wondering what the second picture is. Look at the profile picture displayed on imdb.com for the film Prometheus, and click on it for the full picture, and you will see this exact structure just to the right of the person. I guess nobody must have spotted it.
ReplyDeleteHey, someone with very fast comprehension!
ReplyDeleteGood morning ;-)
I hope that it´s not gonna be misty now, to end up in sh.t
ReplyDeleteas it came to be in Avs.P episodes, but I´m quite sure NOT (as it is supervised by originators !?9.
only btw.: once, way back.. in my youth ,I was completely exalted with those wild concepts of Vincent Ward for Alien 3-- on a planet made of logs; that was wild ideas and it was rightly anticipated as one of the best sci-fi movies conceptualized but never moved out; I saw Ward´s comment years later, only with the revised edition of the Alien Quadrology in 2003. With it´s manifold on adopted gothic elements that actual Alien3 was well compromised, it maintained it´s darkwave more than most others of sci-fi or fantasy genres had done.
Kind regards,Florian.
Well this site sure died after a wealth of info....any more news anywhere??
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it seems not. Not unless you want to know how my dinner went.
