Noomi Rapace gives more insight to Elizabeth Shaw

Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten spoke to Prometheus star Noomi Rapace, who's currently in Norway plugging her latest movie, 'Babycall'.

The newspaper says Rapace is not at liberty to talk too much about Prometheus, but she did give a little more insight into her character, Elizabeth Shaw:
"I play Elizabeth Shaw, researcher and archaeologist. She's British but was raised in Africa because her father was a missionary. From him she learned to believe in God, and she has a strong inner self.
She is the most complete person I have ever played. She has an inner light. She's very stubborn and determined.
She lost her parents when she was a child, so she's been alone from a young age. But she's very intelligent. I know that when one has to survive alone from an early age, one becomes strong.
But also fragile, because the hurt child within her hasn't been able to evolve in a natural way. You get easily hurt  emotionally. She's full of hope, a dreamer, a little naive.
Halfway through the movie a lot of things happen and she turns into a fighter. Another part of her comes to life"

Aftenposten says her character sounds like she has a lot in common with the mother of all action heroines, Ellen Ripley:
"Yes, absolutely! There is a relationship there. I saw 'Alien' as a teenager and was blown away. Can it really be like that? She was the first female star. With 'Alien' and 'Thelma and Loise', Ridley has created a lot of hope and dreams"

Rapace is currently starring in Norwegian thriller 'Babycall', which premieres in Norway on October 7th and in Germany on January 5th, 2012.
There's no word yet when, or if, there will be an international release.

  1. The movie opens with a Alien Spaceship landing on Earth at the dawn of times to plant the seeds of life.

Centuries later Archaeological digs in Africa reveals artifacts proving humans were genetically engineered by E.T. and coordinates to an outer rim planet wich could be the E.T's homeworld.

The Weyland Company, wich is the leading force in space exploration and bio engineering decides to launch an expedition toward the planet.
The spaceship PROMETHEUS' Crew includes scientists, suits from the company, mercenaries, theological advisors.

years later they land on the Alien planet, wich has a cold and hostile environnement.
Upon exploration they discover some sort of temple entombed in cave galleries.
They enter the temple and encounter stange urns all over the place around a gigantic sculpture of a human face with strange markings.

They take a few urns to the ship and start analysing them.

Part of the exploration party that stayed in the temple is fascinated by the human head sculpture.
While searching it they trigger a mechanism that "opens" the head and reveals some sort of gigantic chair, seated in it apparently dead is a giant being.
He wakes up, moves out of the chair.
The humans are scared shitless but mesmerized.
The being "opens" revealing that it's actually a biomechanical spacesuit.
Inside of it, a humanoid that looks almost human.

He's brought back to the Prometheus.

The human race initial use was slave labor or pets but the Alien Gods are proud of their "children". Their first creation to reach such levels of intelligence.

As a reward they share bits of their astonishing bio-based technologies with the humans.

But for one crew member of the Prometheus it's not enough.

In a treacherous act he steals the "bio-source code" to Terraforming,

A technology at the origin of all Gods' powers, a technology that could ultimately make humans equal to their creators.

The Alien Gods may be scientists but thy're also ruthless conquerors, destroyers of worlds who will not accept humans as equals.

They unleash on the escaping human crew their favorite bio-weapon, a creature used to "clean up" worlds before colonization. But something goes wrong in the process and humans manage to turn the bio-weapon against their makers. Giving birth to a smarter, nastier, bigger breed of gut eating creatures. Creatures that will be the demise of Paradise.

What's left of the Prometheus crew manages to escape the doomed alien planet.

On their trail a survivor Alien God. All end up on a familiar ship with an ultimate mission.

Bring the wrath of the Gods to Earth.

The humans find their way to control room, just in time to witness the birth of a creatures that rips its way out through the Alien God's ribcage. It's huge, primal, relentless. It start decimating the humans with incredible savagery.

Stranded on a alien ship heading towards Earth the unlikely last survivor of the Prometheus, has to play a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the creature.
